1-5. How will the software be delivered? Is there any CD package? Back
PA CD for the program is not available. Instead, delivery will be made via download from the Internet. After your order is completed, the Full Version and a license key will be sent to you at once via email. Do not worry because you won't have any backup. 1-6. I have ordered the Full Version of AV VCS, but not received any email confirmation. Back
Normally, after completing the ordering process, you will see an order confirmation right on the web page, and a minute later you will receive several emails including Installation Notes with a link to download your license key. If you receive no email confirmation, it is probable that:
- you have mistyped the email address, or
- your account has a fatal error and won't receive new mails, or
- our emails have been blocked by your spam filter.

1-7. Why can't I use VCS on another computer? Back
Because as our policy each purchase is for one license only. So each computer has a fixed and private VCS code or Protection Number. Basing on this number, your registered name and email address, we will generate the license key, which is unique and can't be applied on another computer. QUESTIONS ABOUT VOICE CHANGER SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS
2-1. Can I use the voice changing software - AV VCS - for voice chat in instant messengers including Skype? Back

2-5. How to sing karaoke with different voices using the voice changing software for PC? Back
Very simple, turn AV VCS on, set the timbre and pitch to the desired levels, turn "Duplex" button on, sing along microphone following the running lyrics. AV VCS can work with PC Karaoke Players without modifying the Midi music. You can also use AV VCS with a regular karaoke device if your PC Line-out is connected to it.
2-6. Can I listen to music with the unchanged voice while I use VCS on voice chat? Back

2-7. How about Voice Comparison and Voice Simulation? Back

3-1. How does the Gold differ from the Standard? Back

QUESTIONS ABOUT INSTALLATION
4-1. What is Protection Number? Where can I find it? Back
Protection Number is automatically created after the Demo Version is installed, and it is unique for each computer. Once you have bought a license for AV VCS, Protection Number is combined with your registered name and email address to generate a key for you to upgrade your Demo to the Full Version. Therefore, if Protection Number is provided incorrectly, your registration code will be created wrongly and you cannot complete the installation.
After installing the Demo, you can find your Protection Number by either of the two following ways:
- Open AV VCS > click the HELP button > choose ABOUT > you will find the Protection Number here.
- Click on the Start menu > Programs > Voice Changer Software > Readme.txt > You will find your Protection Number at the end of this file.
4-2. How can I get my license key? Back
Please follow these steps:
- Download and install the Demo Version.
- Get your Protection Number (see 4-1).
- Go to the link provided in the instruction email.
- Fill out your Protection Number so that the Full Version and a license key will be delivered immediately.
4-3. I can't install the Full Version because the message "Please re-enter correctly the information…" keeps coming up? Back
There are 2 main reasons causing this problem:
- All the information is not entered exactly into the registration form. Note that any mistake, redundant space (especially spaces at the beginning or at the end of the words) or any difference between the upper and lower case can fail your installation.
- The Protection Number is not correctly provided.
So first, try again to COPY AND PASTE EXACTLY your information to the form. If the error still persists, open the Demo > click HELP > ABOUT to find the correct Protection Number. Then go to http://www.audio4fun.com/customer-care.php and send us this number so that we can generate a correct key for you to fully activate your AV VCS.
4-4. I cannot install the Full Version because of the error: "Could not initialize installation. File size expected = 1416160, size returned = 229376"? Back
As your download process is interrupted due to a network problem, the file size is not enough for installation to be activated. So please try again to download the setup file. Remember to close all other unnecessary applications (even instant messengers) to avoid download interruption and error.
4-5. I cannot install the Full Version because of the error: "You do not have access to make the required system configuration modifications. "? Back
Regarding this problem, just simply restart your computer and install the program again.
QUESTIONS ABOUT SOUND PROBLEMS AND USAGE
5-1. Timbre and Pitch levels are adjusted, "Duplex" is on, I still don't hear the voice changed. Why? Back
Check and be sure that your soundcard is Full Duplex, and your microphone as well as speakers work fine. Then follow these steps:
- Open the Volume Control (the small speaker in the right corner of your taskbar) > click the Advanced button under Microphone > check the box "1+20dB Gain" or "Mic Boost".
- On Volume Control panel, click the Options > Properties > check Recording and all the recording controls in the list > OK > the Recording Control comes up > select Microphone and maximize its volume.
5-2. AV VCS opens very slowly, the voice output is somewhat chopped? Back
Using better quality Sound Card and upgrading your System are recommended. AV VCS works very fine on high-speed computers with the latest DirectX version.
Also, as your PC might have a hard time with high-resolution skins, click on “Skins” and select “Classic” - the standard windows interface - for an optimal interface. Besides, for a better performance, do not open many applications when AV VCS is in use.
5-3. Chatters at the other end of line didn't hear my changed voice. I didn't hear them either? Back
It is the issue of how you should use VCS "Duplex" button on and off. It also depends on whether others have full-duplex sound card and/or the audio & video programs support full-duplex conversation. Sometimes you should turn VCS "Duplex" off to hear others. By this way, you won't hear your own (changed) voice but be assured that listeners at the other end will hear.
In some cases when AV VCS intercepts the audio stream with other audio programs, the microphone recording volume slider goes to low level. Then do as follows:
- Open the Volume Control (the small speaker in the right corner of your taskbar) > click the Advanced button under Microphone > check the box "1+20dB Gain" or "Mic Boost".
- On Volume Control panel, click the Options > Properties > check Recording and all the recording controls in the list > OK > the Recording Control comes up > select Microphone and maximize its volume.
If others still don't hear your voice, probably they also use VCS and their "Duplex" button is turned on.
5-4. The changed voice is heard with lots of echoes and feedback. How can I avoid it? Back
Probably you have speakers placed too close to microphone. Try to increase this distance and/or to change their orientation. In Recording control, lower the volume slider to somewhere in the middle (about 50%). Anyway, using headphones is highly recommended for a better voice output. If the echo still persists, open the Volume Control > click Advanced under Microphone > uncheck the box "1+20dB Gain" or "Mic Boost".
5-5. How can I achieve a natural voice? Back
Follow these tips to have a natural result with AV VCS:
- If the preset nickvoices are not not good enough, adjust the Pitch & Timbre as well as other features till getting the desired voice.
- Set the Advanced Tune close to 0.
- Do not adjust all Equalizer bands too high. You can apply any available preset or manually combine all bands. Try this way: Drag the sliders down and gradually raise them up till getting the best combination. The five left bands are bass frequencies, and the right are treble. Add more bass to have a warmer voice and more treble to have a high-pitched voice.
- For the Diamond edition, use the Frequency Morpher, Voice Equalizer and Sound Quality to have a better voice output.
- Do not open many applications while AV VCS is in use.
5-6. How can avoid the background noise? Back
Open the Volume Control (the small speaker in the right corner of your taskbar) > click the Options menu > Properties > check Recording and all the recording controls in the list > OK > the Recording Control comes up > select Microphone and drag its volume down.
If the noise still persists, open the Volume Control one more time, click the Advanced button under Microphone > uncheck the box "1+20dB Gain" or "Mic Boost".
For the Diamond edition, the Noise Reduction in Sound Quality also helps a lot to reduce extra noise.
5-7. When I morph MP3 songs, the voices are changed fine, but the music is broken badly? Back
Simply adjust the Advanced Tune close to 0.
5-8. I don't want to hear the original voice along with the changed voice? Back
Open the Volume Control (the small speaker in the right corner of your taskbar) and check the MUTE box under Microphone.
5-9. I don’t want to morph the whole MP3 song but a part of it only. Can I do so? Back
Yes, you can. Please do as follows: - Open and play the song by an audio player. - Activate AV VCS, choose a nickvoice or adjust all features till getting the voice of your wish. - Click the Recorder button and start recording the morphed file. When you want to stop, simply click the Stop button on the Recorder window. Now a brand new file is available for your later use. - Note: For the Gold and Diamond you may click the Settings button on the Recorder to select a folder and a sound format for your recorded files.
5-10. When I play back the recorded file, it sounds distorted badly. Back
Remember to turn off AV VCS while playing back your recorded file by another audio player. Otherwise, it will be morphed one more time, and the quality is not as good as what has been set.
5-11. How can I save recorded files in MP3 as well as other formats? Back
Only the Gold and the Diamond editions allow you to do so. Click the Recorder button > the Recorder will come up > Click the Settings button > Encoder > define a suitable stream to process and right click on this stream > select "MPEG-1 Audio" for MP3 format. If you are not sure what stream will be processed, just right click on all of them, one by one, and choose "MPEG-1 Audio".
5-12. How can I set AutoRecorder for a certain application? Back
OClick the Recorder button > the Recorder will come up > click Settings > Autostart > check "Turn autostart recording" > choose "Autostart for custom applications" > click the Add button and add some applications that you wish to auto-record to the list > Apply > OK.
5-13. How can I record my changed voice listening to the music simultaneously? Back
Only the Gold and Diamond editions allow you to do so. Click the Player button > the built-in audio player of AV VCS will come up > play music by this player > the program will not process audio stream from its player, so you can morph and record your voice while enjoying the music.
5-14. How can AV VCS ignore a certain stream or application? Back
Click the Settings button on AV VCS interface > Ignore Filter > check "Enable" > if you want AV VCS to ignore streams, check the Stream box and select a stream in the list; if you want AV VCS to ignore applications, check the Applications box and Add the applications that you want to exclude from the morphing process > Apply > OK.
5-15. How can I set a Nickvoice Rule for an application? Back
This feature is only available in the Diamond edition. Click Settings on AV VCS interface > press the Nickvoice rules tab > check "Enable" > click the Add button to create a rule > a dialog will come up > type a Name for the rule > select a Nickvoice and an Application for the current rule > OK > the rule is now added to the list > click Apply and then OK to apply this rule.
5-16. How can I use the Voice Comparator? Back
The Voice Comparator is only available in the Diamond edition.
- Open Voice Comparator by clicking the Comparator button on the Main panel.
- Turn the DUPLEX mode OFF by clicking the DUPLEX button on the main panel (if you work under Win2000 or win98, turn off AV VCS as well).
- Select any person from the list and click Play button to listen to his/her voice (the spoken phrase will be displayed in the phrase indicator).
- Click the Record button and speak to the microphone the exact phrase with the similar tempo, intonation and pauses between the words.
- When the recording is finished, your voice will be automatically compared to the selected voice. Click the Auto button to start morphing.
- After your voice is morphed, click the OK button and your morphed voice parameters will be transmitted to VCS 4.0 DIAMOND.
- Now you may turn the DUPLEX mode on and use in VCS 4.0 DIAMOND new settings of your morphed voice.
Note: Try to imitate the voice of the selected person (tempo, intonation, pitch, pauses between the words, etc.) as much as possible. The words linked with underline symbols do not have pauses between each other - when you will be recording your voice, do not make pauses between these words either.
QUESTIONS ABOUT USER INTERFACE
6-1. What is the usage of “Pitch and Timbre” table? Back
Pitch & Timbre table is the most important and unique tool of Voice Changer Software AV VCS in changing instantly the voice input in two dimensions: Voice Pitch and Voice Timbre. Pitch and Timbre settings enable you to adjust and have control over the gender and age of changed voice. To adjust the Pitch & Timbre, click and drag your mouse in the table or use the arrow buttons (←,↑,→,↓) on your keyboard.
6-2. What does DUPLEX button stand for? Back
Duplex button has 2 modes: ON and OFF, used to activate or inactivate the sound output from micro on the speaking end of line. When the Duplex is ON, both you and the one at the other end can hear your changed voice output. However, when Duplex button is OFF, only the party at the other end can hear your changed voice.
Note: Duplex button is in "OFF" status as default when you use VCS with an audio player as Windows Media Player, Winamp, Jet-Audio, RealOne, etc.
6-3. The interface doesn't show up on my desktop. Instead, VCS is stuck in the taskbar. How can I fix this? Back
Regarding this problem, please do as follows:
- Press Alt + Space Bar + M (the key M stands for "Move").
- Use the arrow keys (Up, Down, Right, Left) to move VCS into the desktop, you will see the frame lines of VCS interface.
- Left mouse and the program will be back on your desktop.
Note: Do not open many applications when VCS is in use.
QUESTIONS ABOUT "NICKVOICES", SKINS AND EFFECTS
7-1. Where can I download more "nickvoices", and skins ? Back
Please go to our smart update page at: http://www.audio4fun.com/smartupdates.htm and download more plug-ins for your AV VCS. Especially, from version 4.0, there are several packages, such as Nickvoice Package, Effect Package, CeleVoice Package, available for you to download and have more fun.
7-2. How do I use downloaded "nickvoices"? Back
If you download a Nickvoice package, simply open the file and install it. New nickvoices will be automatically added to your AV VCS.
If you download a separate nickvoice, open the file to install it into your computer. This nickvoice will not be plugged in AV VCS. To use it, you have to click the Nickvoice button, and then Load
7-3. How do I use downloaded skins? Back
After downloading from our web site, open the file to install the skin into your AV VCS. Then activate the program and click View > Skins, you will find the new added skin here.
7-4. How can I use downloaded effects? Back
Just simply open the downloaded file and install new effects into AV VCS.
Especially, the Diamond edition allows effect mixing that helps you combine effects, create, save and load effect layouts using the Load and Save buttons in the Effect section.
7-5. Why can’t I select any “nickvoice” in the Demo Version? How can I evaluate the software? Back
The Demo demonstrates how your voice gets changed by automatically rotating the preset nickvoices every 60 seconds. After 14 days, if you haven't registered for a Free Key, your Demo will not alter voices anymore, and the Pitch & Timbre will freeze at 100%.
While running the Demo, just speak to the microphone or play music and see how the voice is changed. For a better voice output, adjust the Advanced Tune close to 0 and do not set all equalizer bands too high. |
